When a world-class educational institution experiences a problem educating its own faculty, staff, and employees -- something is wrong.
In January 2007, after abandoning its existing training vendor in mid-contract due to delivery issues and service that did not meet its legal requirements, the University of Southern California sought out Workplace Answers for robust, practical, and compelling solutions.
Complexity made simple
In addition to needing custom versions of faculty and staff courses, USC further required a complex automated data registration, as well as reminder and reporting solutions to compliment their overall training initiative. This system had to include scheduled email delivery, add/activate and deactivate/delete course registrations, automatic update of learning information, and scheduled future trainings and additional courses.
Working closely with the USC administration to develop and deploy the training, Workplace Answers also created custom software solutions to enhance deployment and administration. Because the USC team was large, and because there were several tasks running in parallel in order to ensure that the university’s training deadline was met, Workplace Answers managed the project aggressively.
Impressive results
USC's training initiatives launched on time and included automated data exchange routines, a customized view into the Learning Management System — including a new section for USC IAPs, confidentiality statements, and custom reports — customized certificates, administrative signatures, signature lines for employees, and embedded access links to the USC Portal.
Workplace Answers enabled the university to train over 10,000 users with a 98% completion rate.
